Squirrel Hill
Squirrel Hill is a residential neighborhood in the East End of Pittsburgh. There are two areas sometimes referred to as Squirrel Hill South and North. Squirrel Hill is a commuter friendly community where you can find shopping, dining, entertainment, all within a few minutes walking or biking distance. Speaking of biking, check out Biketek on Forbes for all of your biking needs. This is also a dog friendly community and has over 1100 acres of parks including the 600 acre Frick Park, the 456 acre Schenley Park, and an off-leash dog park with water fountains. Don't forget to bring your plastic baggies and keep the park clean. There are some great ethnic and traditional American restaurants in Squirrel Hill. A morning visit in Squirrel Hill wouldn't be complete without breakfast at Pamela's Diner. For Pizza, there are two Pizza Titans on Murray Avenue with Aiello's and Mineo's Pizza. Too many small shops to list but plan a whole day to catch all of the small shops. As for the homes, you will find tree lined sidewalk streets with some of Pittsburgh most beautiful character filled homes.
